Downtown Appleton will be glistening with beautiful ice on Saturday, December 17 with their annual Avenue of Ice event. You can head downtown to celebrate the season and enjoy a great fun-filled day for the whole family!

Starting at 9am you’ll find activities in Houdini Plaza, visits with Santa and his reindeer, horse-drawn carriage rides, music, games, food trucks and more! Wander the Avenue, visit the shops and enjoy beautiful ice sculptures up and down College Avenue, and watch the ice-carving in action at Houdini Plaza with professional carver, Paul Salmon.

Don’t forget to stop in City Center for Appleton’s Indoor Farm Market! They’ll be extending their hours until 1:30pm for this event. Aside from the usual local vendors, there will be a Chili cook-off fundraiser from 10am-noon, Handcrafted Holiday Gift Market featuring one-of-a-kind gifts, the One Stop Elf Shop will be open for children to do some of their own shopping and from 10:30 to 11:30am they can join Mrs. Claus for holiday cookie decorating!

My kids and I enjoyed the festivities last year and we’ll go again this year. It’s a fun day for everybody all while checking a few things off that holiday list! Downtown Appleton will be filled with holiday spirit and the joys of the season; come out and make Avenue of Ice a family tradition!
