Cool Treats for Hot Days

IMG_2003When I hear the word “summer” one thought that immediately comes to mind is ice cream.  There is something to be said about this cool treat on a hot summer day that really put a smile on your face.  Recently, I had the pleasure of stopping at Frogg’s Ice Cream.  This seasonal shop is located in Sherwood, Wisconsin off highway 55/114 and is open the first weekend in April until Labor Day.

The green and white awning and white picket fence welcome you into this charming roadside shop.  Frogg’s Ice Cream provides traditional soft-serve ice cream featuring chocolate, vanilla or twist.  They offer a variety of fresh toppings to customize your ice cream, smoothie, shake or malt; or, order one of their specialty IMG_2002sundaes, like the Frogg on a Log, Tropical Hopper or Cricket Caramel Cashew.  My daughter had a Creek Cookie Sundae; vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, crushed oreo cookie and whipped cream (optional cherry on top, of course) and I had a small twist cone. The servings are huge and the toppings are added generously.  In addition to receiving great ice cream at an affordable price, their friendly customer service was a pleasure.

Some guests choose to utilize the drive-thru and take their generously served ice cream cones and blended drinks to-go.  For those who wish to enjoy their treats at Frogg’s, you can grab a table out in front of the shop and watch the cars go by or sit in the pretty park-like setting behind the building.  I prefer a picnic table behind the building so I can relax, take in the scenery and really savor the moment.

Frogg’s Ice Cream will be worth your trip! Find them at 370 Military Road, Sherwood.
